Welcome to the Smeby – Nelson Family Tree
Read this information first
The family tree can be copied and pasted into a word processor or a email browser and then make the changes. Then email me the updates and I will make the changes on the web site. You can copy whatever you like, it does not affect the web site. If there is an article that you would like a copy, if it is too large to print and read, let me know and I will send it to you in a printable form. All articles are in a jpg, except for family tree. You can drag the articles off the site onto your desktop. You can add family photo’s, identify who is in the photo and I can put the names on the photo. Once you have the updates, then send them to this email address smebyjames@gmail.com and I will update. I think this Web site will be better than a printed book because more people can see it and can be updated at any time. I want to give a big thank you to Cheryl Pfeifer for all the work she did on finding a lot of family records and pictures. Also Evelyn Smeby had a scrap book which had over 50 years of newspaper articles she had saved.

The 16mm home movies that William Schmidt took over the years was digitized. Many extended family members and some friends are also in the video. This video covers the years 1940 through 1946. The next video currently working on covers the years 1947 through 1959. There should eventually be a third video for the years after 1959. Subtitles identifying people and places has been added. If you send Rick, an email with the time code and the subtitle text and he will add additional titles.
